come and enjoy one of the most peaceful and relaxing parts of our beautiful Hebridean Island of Harris.

Relax and get away from it all at Roineabhal Cottage. Set in a peaceful and  quiet location with a South facing aspect the cottage enjoys the sun all day perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the garden. Sunset in the evening too can be breathtaking.  

Situated on the beautiful Island of Scalpay (Harris) in Scotland's Western Isles it enjoys magnificent sea views towards Skye and North Uist The mountains of Harris and An Clisham ( Highest mountain in Harris)can also be seen  from the cottage.

An ideal location for walking, golf and fishing and only 25 minutes from the white sandy beaches on the West coast.
Tarbert (15 minutes) has Craft shops, Harris Tweed & Knitwear. Hotels, Tea room and local grocers,Bank and Petrol station it also has a Leisure Centre with swimming pool with gymnasium.

Roineabhal has been tastefully decorated to a high standard and is not only a delightful holiday cottage but also used by the owners who are locals to the Harris area.

Scalpay is connected to its larger neighbour Harris via a single track bridge. It is an Island with lots to offer. Wildlife is abundant Sea Otters can be seen playing in the bays and seals are common. Watch out for dolphins following the ferry as you cross to Harris. Sea Eagles can also be seen if you keep a lookout!

From the cottage there is a wonderful walk out to Eilean Glas Lighthouse which has marker poles along the way. There are also guided walks daily which provides more information on this lovely walk (see tourist Info in Tarbert)
 
A local mini market in the village provides all manner of provisions and there is also a coffee shop as well.

Sea and Game fishermen are spoilt for choice and golfers will find a fantastic 9 hole course set amid the beaches in Scarista and an 18 hole course in Lewis Castle Stornoway.

For the outdoors type there are numerous walks along the beaches and hills. There are many boat trips available to visit Taransay, ST Kilda and the Shaint Islands please look at the links page for info on things to do around the Island.
